AEG-JSEG Collaborative Session at the 2025 JSEG Annual Conference
The Japan Society of Engineering Geology (JSEG) and the Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists (AEG) in the United States have been conducting technical exchanges in the field of dams and levees since 2024. In 2025, a JSEG–AEG collaborative session was held at the 2025 JSEG Annual Meeting in Sapporo under the theme “Geo-related Risks for Dams: Investigation, Evaluation, and Remediation Measures.” This collaboration also served as one of the catalysts for the establishment of a new technical committee within the International Association for Engineering Geology & the Environment (IAEG), namely Commission No. 43 on Dams & Levees (DLC).
